Since 1999, we have served thousands of guests who visit our farm annually to pick strawberries and other fruit; visit the animals; shop in our bakery, market barn and garden center; and attend special events. The Operations Team member position is a FT position on our beautiful farm in Loveland Ohio, helping us create an amazing Family Farm Experience for our guests.

Position Summary

The Operations Team member enjoys newer and well maintained equipment and facilities on our beautiful farm.  We often operate in a very dynamic work week with the job responsibilities sometimes changing from week to week or season to season.  This position is well suited for a candidate who enjoys hands on work, building a variety of projects, is organized and possibly somewhat creative.  Upcoming projects in 2025 include; building a low ropes course, installing a road for a trackless train, setting the grounds up for events, beautifying the farm, building new retail displays, servicing equipment, building a new walk in cooler, and general team support such as running errands for supplies and produce, driving hayrides and lots more.

Major Responsibilities 

  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Work directly with our Operations Manager to build, expand, fix and maintain our facilities, equipment, displays and attractions. 
    • Preparing for upcoming seasons
      • set up attractions & tents
      • service greenhouses and facilities.
    • Regular equipment servicing of 10+ tractors, mowers and equipment
    • Designing and building new photo opts and displays for the retail team
    • Support to contractors as facility infrastructure is upgraded
      • Running utilities – electric, water, data
    • Errands for supplies and fresh produce as needed
  • Keep our tools, supplies & and facilities organized
  • Drive Hayrides, Train & Support our high traffic events
  • Exercise attention to detail
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Have experience working with their hands.
  • Some experience operating equipment (tractor, skid steer etc.)
  • Experienced pulling, backing and maneuvering a trailer. 
  • Comfortable driving or learning to safely drive a forklift
  • Willingness to work in an outdoor setting regardless of seasonal weather conditions.

Marketing & Communications Manager

Position Summary

The Marketing & Communications Manager does not need existing experience in agritourism, but should have a minimum of 2 recent years of marketing management experience or 4+ years in professional marketing. This position will lead the execution of the marketing and communications plan for Blooms & Berries seasonal offerings and events. This person will work directly with the ownership family to plan messaging strategy as well as with department leads to recognize and capture seasonally relevant content. This position requires someone who can be “boots on the ground” 40 hours per week at Blooms and Berries in Loveland, Ohio, from March through early November. Occasionally when preparing for peak seasons, hours may increase slightly but this balances nicely with our slower winter period. This is an in-person, 5 day per week position, as the farm is a dynamic work environment that can change day to day, season to season.  This position enjoys a nice balance of focused office time while also getting out and integrating with team members and guests to capture the excitement and tell our family farm’s story. Some evening and weekend hours will be required to capture content at special events or to respond in a timely manner to social media questions from our followers.  January through February bring a more relaxed work schedule while preparing for the upcoming year, maintaining a modest brand presence on social media, promoting voting for “best of” awards and building brand equity and excitement for the upcoming seasons.   

Major Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Work onsite, 5 days a week at Blooms & Berries in Loveland, Ohio, from March through early November. Some days onsite through the winter as needed. 
  • Work with the ownership family to develop a marketing and communication plan for each season and event.
  • Collaborate with department managers and team members daily, building content and developing stories from the ground up.
  • Develop exciting and engaging content for our current social media accounts. 
    • Enjoy and grow a solid Facebook audience, currently over 63,000 followers.
    • Take our Instagram account from 15,000 to the next level.
  • Develop our brand on TikTok.
  • Manage and respond to social media questions and comments in real time. 
  • Develop and publish a weekly email campaign to over 83,000 subscribers centered around a clear and exciting call to action.
  • Keep our website up to date with exciting, clear and concise content.
  • Manage our online listings on Google, Apple Maps, visitors bureau, local event calendars, etc.
  • Build systems to organize the marketing of seasons and events.
  • Build and observe marketing campaigns.
  • Create videos varying from raw to mid level production based on the platform.
    • Post select videos to our YouTube channel.  
  • Monitor, analyze and report G4 analytics, and social analytics.  
  • Maintain & develop relationships with existing third party vendors for graphic design, photography, videography, online advertising etc.  
  • Maintain and develop relationships with social media influencers through our influencer engagement program.
  • Collaborate with our new group sales position to promote corporate packages and relationships.
  • Other responsibilities may include internal communications such as creating and implementing internal tools for the staff. This may include training videos, team messaging and more.

The subject of content and growth will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Beautiful garden center flowers and merchandise. 
  • U-Pick strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, sugar snap peas and U-dig potatoes.
  • Seasonal fresh produce, bulk fruit orders. 
  • The petting farm.
  • Group booking promotion – including field trips, birthday parties and corporate meetings.
  • Celebration of our amazing team and hiring campaigns.
  • Events such as our Sunset Blueberry Picnic, Pups Pints & Pumpkins, Bubbles & Blooms and more
  • Fall on the Farm – hayrides, corn maze, sunflowers and much more.
  • The Christmas Bakery & Shop.
  • New low ropes attraction, new trackless train, possible exploration of Door Dash delivery for select baked goods. 
  • New ideas daily.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Must be a creative, fun, self-motivated individual who understands working within the voice of a brand and demonstrates a passion for our farm. 
  • Has a positive personality. Gets energy from our dynamic work environment, and embraces change from season to season or event to event.
  • Demonstrates an eagerness for lifelong learning and staying current with trends.
  • Has experience identifying and tracking metrics, using the data to improve performance over time.  
  • Can balance working quickly while demonstrating organization, creativity and attention to detail. (Please include the word “grow” or “growth” in the subject line of your application email.)
  • Has at least 2 years of recent marketing management experience or 4+ years in professional marketing.
  • Has previous professional experience editing video as well as using Canva, Constant Contact, Google Analytics, Google Business, Meta Business, or can learn quickly.
  • Is able to briefly engage on weekends and evenings to offer timely replies on social media and is able to attend the occasional evening and weekend special event to capture content as needed.
  • eCommerce sales or Shopify experience is not required but would be a bonus.
